Our commercial construction process

Every commercial build-out is different, but most projects move through six core stages. Build Up coordinates the project with business owners, property representatives, design professionals, trades, and inspectors from early site evaluation through project completion.

    Site evaluation & preliminary budget

    Review the proposed space, intended use, existing conditions, potential construction challenges, and a preliminary project budget before major commitments are made.

  2. 02

    Plans, design & preconstruction

    Coordinate the construction scope with the owner, architect, engineer, property manager, and other project professionals as plans and specifications are developed.

  3. 03

    Permitting & approvals

    Coordinate permit applications, required documentation, plan-review responses, and the approvals needed to move the project into construction.

  4. 04

    Demolition & construction

    Begin approved demolition and construction, including framing and the physical improvements required to prepare the space for its intended use.

  5. 05

    Trades, MEP & interior finishes

    Coordinate electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other trades alongside interior finishes while managing construction sequencing and project progress.

  6. 06

    Inspections & project completion

    Coordinate required construction inspections, complete outstanding work, and prepare the finished space for turnover and the client’s next stage of occupancy or opening.
